Lahinch, Ireland

Ireland's Surf Capital

Lahinch

This must-see town offers its visitors a non-traditional view of what we think is typical Ireland, as most people don't think beach-town when they think Ireland.  Lahinch is known for its picturesque beaches, perfect for travelers looking for an adventure kite surfing the North Atlantic Coast, while others can relax and enjoy the views while catching a few rays.

Lahinch

  • Located on Liscannor Bay, is Ireland's busiest seaside resort town, boasting one mile of remarkable sandy beach.
  • Offers seasoned surfers excellent breaks on the left side of the beach, but for those looking to take their first lesson, Lahinch has numerous "learn to surf" schools for your convenience.

  • Is home to what the locals refer to as Tiger Wood's favorite golf course in all of Ireland, Old Course at Lahinch, located at Lahinch Golf Club - better known as the "St. Andrews" of Irealnd!
  • Situated in a premiere location, provides the not-so-adventurous traveler various sights and tours:
    • Lahinch Seaworld & Leisure Center - one of Ireland's largest indoor aquariums and part of the Clare Heritage Circle, a group of organizations dedicated to the promotion of tourism and culture.
    • Cliffs of Moher - the utmost extraordinary landscape in Ireland with a five mile stretch of cliffs, dropping 700 feet into the North Atlantic Ocean (some of the highest cliffs in all of Europe!).
    • The Great Famine Memorial - tucked between Lahinch and Ennistymon this memorial describes the troubles of the Irish people during those times, and is home to the first ever Irish monument to remember those who died.

It's evident why Lahinch is a must during your Ireland vacation, as it offers a non-traditional view of this remarkable country. Your friends and family will be jealous when you return with photos of your surf lessons and stunning views of the Cliffs of Moher!
