Girlfriends’ Getaway Ireland: June 24th, 2012
Daily Themed Tour Itinerary
Add a pre-tour night in Dublin for an extra day to explore the capital city.
Day 1, Sunday: Arrive in Dublin, Ireland (7 & 10-night packages only)You will have this day at your leisure to check out the shops on Grafton Street, Trinity College or to use your 24-hour pass on Dublin‘s hop-on/hop-off City Tour Bus. You’re invited to a tour welcome party, hosted at a nearby pub, where the Tenon Tours arrival representative will offer a short Introduction to Ireland as you get to know the other people who will be traveling with you.
Day 2, Monday: Dublin to Galway (7 & 10-night packages only)Spend the morning exploring the streets, shops, and pubs of Dublin. Choose to join a tour of the Guinness Storehouse and enjoy a complimentary pint in the top-floor Gravity Bar overlooking Dublin. If whiskey is more your flavor, head over to experience the Old Jameson Distillery tour. In the afternoon afternoon, board your coach for a relaxing ride through the Irish countryside to Galway.
Day 3, Tuesday: Galway (5-night travelers arrive)Enjoy a traditional Irish breakfast at your leisure. The day is yours to experience Galway at your own pace or take advantage of our featured tour visiting the Connemara region. Try your hand at one of Ireland’s most spectacular golf courses, Galway Bay Golf Resort, and use your second night in Galway to visit the shops, restaurants and pubs you may have missed the first night.
Day 4, Wednesday: GalwayChallenge your mates to a local pub crawl, or take advantage of the featured tour of the Aran Islands, Europe’s easternmost point. Gaelic is the first language of its residents. The Arans are considered the foothold of Irish culture.
Day 5, Thursday: Galway to KillarneyDuring this peaceful journey you will make a stop to visit the majestic Cliffs of Moher. Check into your hotel before enjoying the rest of the afternoon at your own speed. You might consider a leisurely Jaunting Cart Ride with an entertaining Irish driver.
Day 6, Friday: KillarneyAnother day to explore Killarney. Join our trip around the Ring of Kerry or Dingle Peninsula, Ireland’s most popular scenic areas, or test your golfing skills at the challenging Lackabane Golf Course. Bike rentals are also available.
Day 7, Saturday: Killarney to Ennis (5 & 7-night travelers) or Killarney to Cork (10-night travelers)Finish exploring Killarney before your mid-day transfer. This morning you may want to take one of the most scenic Horseback Rides through the Killarney National Park you could ever imagine.
5 & 7-night travelers will head to Ennis to check in for their final stop and farewell toast. Enjoy a walking tour of Ennis or visit the local pubs. In the evening travel to the Knappogue Castle, or to Bunratty Castle for a “Medieval Banquet.”
10-night travelers continue to Cork. For a half day tour, visit Blarney Village, home to the famous Blarney Castle & Blarney Stone as well as the Cork City Goal (jail).
Day 8, Sunday: Ennis to Shannon/Home (5 & 7-night travelers) or Cork (10-night travelers)5 & 7-night travelers say goodbye to Ireland.
10-night travelers enjoy another day in Cork. Choose to visit Cobh, the last port of call of the Titanic. Here you can visit The Queenstown Story to learn about the development of the port as the main emigration point for up to 3-million Irish people. We also suggest visiting the town of Kinsale, the gourmet capital of Ireland. To build up your appetite for an amazing meal we suggest the Kinsale Walking Tour, an acclaimed introduction to this quaint and extraordinary harbor town.
