Saint Patrick’s Week in Ireland: March 2013
3/12 – 3/15, : Pre-Nights Available in Dublin and/or Belfast
Dublin pre-nights: Beat the crowd and have some extra time to explore the capital city with an array of optional tours to take as you wish.
Belfast 2 night pre-package: With this pre-package you will have the opportunity to explore Northern Ireland through many options such as one of the world famous Black Taxi Tours of Belfast, a 24 hour pass on Belfast’s Hop-On/Hop-Off City Tour Bus or a featured day tour of the North Antrim Coast visiting Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Bushmills Distillery and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.
3/16, Friday: Arrive in Dublin, Ireland
Arrive in the early morning to Dublin International Airport where you will be directed to your hotel transportation. You have this day at your leisure. to catch up on some rest or experience all that Dublin has to offer. You may choose to join in a tour of the Guinness Storehouse and enjoy a complimentary pint in the top-floor Gravity Bar overlooking Dublin (INCLUDED at leisure). Tonight you will meet up with your group for a Welcome to Ireland introduction with your Tenon Tours host* in your hotel lobby before transferring to the Irish House Party for your Welcome Dinner with traditional Irish music and dancing. After enjoying your 3 course dinner and entertainment head out to the pubs for that first (or fifth) pint of Guinness (if you’ve been able to wait that long)!
3/17, Saturday: Dublin – St. Patrick’s Day
After your full Irish breakfast at the hotel prepare for a great am amazing St. Patrick’s Day with Grandstand tickets for the one and only Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Parade!
3/18, Sunday: Dublin (4-Night Travelers) Dublin to Galway (7 & 10-Night Travelers)
4-Night Package: Spend the morning recovering from yesterdays celebrations at breakfast or continue exploring the streets, shops, and pubs of Dublin. Today you can partake in the Gaelic Games Experience learning hurling, Gaelic football and handball.
7 & 10-Night Package: Board your coach bus for a relaxing ride through the Irish countryside to Galway on the west coast. After getting settled in join your host* for a Welcome drink then tonight’s itinerary is up to you, take this opportunity to explore and get acquainted with Galway.
3/19, Monday: Dublin (4-Night Travelers) Galway (7 & 10-Night Travelers)
Enjoy a traditional Irish breakfast at your leisure this morning.
4-Night Package: On your last day in the capital city you may want to try the Dublin Bay & Malahide Castle half day tour or take a City Tour with a 24 hour pass on the hop-on/hop-off city sightseeing bus or visit the Jameson Distillery and take part in the Whiskey tasting demonstration.
7 & 10-Night Package: The day is yours to experience Galway at your own pace or take advantage of either featured tour, The Connemara region, well known and loved by artists for its unspoiled beauty OR the Aran Islands, Europe’s easternmost point where Gaelic is the first language of its residents and is considered the foothold of Irish culture.
3/20, Tuesday: Depart Dublin (4 nights) Galway to Killarney (7 nights)
4 night package: Say goodbye to your new friends and catch your transfer to the airport for your return flight home. Safe travels and we’ll see you next time! (You’ll be back!)
7 night package: Wake up to your traditional Irish breakfast, pack up your room, and catch your transfer to Killarney. During this peaceful journey you will make a stop to visit the majestic Cliffs of Moher that stretch for 5 miles and are over 700 feet high. Once that sight is buried in your memory forever you will continue to Killarney. Check-in to your hotel before enjoying the rest of the afternoon at your own speed. Tonight you’ll gather again with your host* for a Welcome drink and plan the rest of the night with your new friends if you’d like!
3/21, Wednesday: Killarney (7 nights)
Another day to explore Killarney after breakfast – Take your choice between two optional tours today, either a Day tour around the Ring of Kerry or Dingle Peninsula. Bike tours are also available or you may enjoy the local scene of Killarney, it’s always your choice! Tonight you can work on finishing pubs off that Countrywide Pub Crawl list.
3/22, Thursday: Killarney to Bunratty (7-night travelers) Killarney to Cork (10-night travelers)
(Breakfast) This morning you can finish exploring Killarney before your mid-day transfer. You may want to experience some of the most scenic Horseback Riding you could ever imagine.
(7-night travelers) You will then head to Bunratty to check-in for your final stop. Take full advantage of the serenity as you wind down from a wild week. Enjoy a tour of the Bunratty castle and for a farewell dinner try the “Medieval Banquet”, a dinner show to remember, before your last night may be one you forget!
(10-night travelers) This afternoon you will head to Cork where you can visit Blarney Village, home to the famous Blarney Castle & Blarney Stone on a half day tour.
3/23, Friday: Bunratty to Shannon/Home (7-night travelers) Cork (10-night travelers)
Breakfast
(7-night travelers) Say goodbye to Ireland and your new friends as we leave Bunratty for Shannon to board your return flights home.
(10-night travelers) Enjoy another day in Cork. Choose to visit Cobh, the last port of call of the Titanic. Here you can visit The Queenstown Story to learn about the development of the port and visit the main emigration point for more than three million Irish people. We also suggest visiting the town of Kinsale, the gourmet capital of Ireland. To build up your appetite for an amazing meal we suggest the Kinsale Walking Tour, an acclaimed introduction to this quaint and extraordinary harbor town.
3/24, Saturday: Cork to Kilkenny (10-Night packages only)
Continue your journey to Kilkenny. Explore the streets or head down the Kilkenny Craft Trail. Spend your night with wine and cheese on the patio.
3/25, Sunday: Kilkenny to Dublin (10-Night packages only)
Head back to Dublin and finish your journey with last-minute shopping and a farewell toast. Take time visiting anything you may have missed at the start of your tour (or book a post night to get even more time in this amazing city).
3/26, Monday: Dublin to Home (10-Night packages only) (OR Post-Nights)
