Boeing 737 Max-8

Boeing 737 Max 8 Update

In light of the most recent tragedy regarding Ethiopian Airlines, we are closely monitoring the FAA’s decision to ground all Boeing 737 Max 8 aircrafts.

Tenon Tours is currently booking travel as normal to all of our destinations. With the information we have at this time, not one of our vacation packages will be impacted in a negative manner. Most airlines who have grounded their Boeing 737 Max 8 aircrafts have either: rebooked their customers on another plane in their fleet, OR allowed customers to reschedule with much more lenient policies regarding changes. At Tenon Tours, our clients are our number one priority. We will continue to monitor the investigation/FAA’s subsequent decisions and are prepared to deal with any situation that should arise concerning any of our vacation packages.

Just to put things in perspective:

  • Southwest has 34 of these planes out of a total fleet of 750 aircrafts. The Max 8’s attribute for 4% of their flights.
  • American Airlines uses the planes for 85 of their 6,700 daily flights, or 1.2686%.
  • United Airlines has zero 737 Max 8’s.
  • The chart below breaks out the number of affected planes (globally):
