Róisín O’s spectacular limber voice is just a start. She possesses a keen ear, and is indeed everything we look for in an Irish rose. Celine Murphy, Hot Press, Ones to Watch in 2012
With recent success, Róisín O is one of Ireland’s new aspiring musicians. Daughter of well known contemporary and folk recording artist, Mary Black, and sister of Danny O’Reilly, a member of Ireland’s rock band, The Corona’s, it’s no secret that talented musical genes run in the family.
Born in Dublin and at the budding age of 23, Róisín O has already shared the stage and studio with some of Ireland’s most famed acts, proving that she has a unique songwriting style and an expressive voice that that soothes the ears and melts the heart.
Róisín O’s career instantly took off after she left school, when her song “Drifting” was featured on the album, Women’s Heart Then and Now in 2010. Her unique voice received rave reviews, alongside other popular Irish artists, including Julie Feeney, Lisa Hannigan, and Gemma Hayes.
In 2011, Róisín O received more positive news when she released the EP The Thrill, only to be followed by her debut single, Here We Go, in May of 2012. Róisín O’s latest album, The Secret Life of Blue, was recently released and has hit iTunes and music stores around the world. These are definitely songs you need to invest in for your playlist.
It’s crazy to think that, after growing up in the Celtic Tiger, so many of our close friends are now living and working abroad. That’s why we felt this idea for the Tea Song could be cool and a nice way to get back in touch with friends and family we haven’t seen in a while, and at the same time get in touch with fans abroad. And also share our mutual love for tea; it brings us closer as a nation! Róisín O
Travel to Ireland, become a part of the Gathering and see Róisín O perform live, while you learn to enjoy the mutual love for tea shared by Irish around the world!
Spread the musical love and share Irish #Teaspora with your friends!
