Day 1: Arrive in Barcelona

We recommend a morning arrival at Barcelona airport. You will be met by your private driver at the Barcelona airport and then transferred to your hotel. After checking in and freshening up, take a small group city tour that highlights some of Barcelona’s most prized architecture by Antoni Gaudí. His one-of-a-kind modernist style can be found all around the city. You will see Casa Battló, Park Güell and a few others. The tour will also make a special stop at the world-famous and still unfinished Sagrada Familia.

Day 2: Barcelona to Montserrat

You’ll have free time in the morning to walk around the city. We recommend a stroll around Las Ramblas to get some souvenir shopping done. In the early afternoon, enjoy a delicious paella lunch at a restaurant on the harbor while you soak in the scenic views. After lunch, head about an hour inland toward Montserrat. Montserrat is a mountain, a national park, a sanctuary and a monastery established during the 11th century and is set at 3,200 feet above sea level. Take the road to arrive at the top of the hill. Upon arrival, sample the local liqueur and watch an audiovisual presentation. Since you’ll be staying at the only hotel atop the mountain, you can enjoy the sereneness at night once the tourists leave the monastery for the day.

Day 3: Montserrat to Girona, Figueres and Costa Brava

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then head north toward the town of Figueres, also known as the birthplace of Salvador Dalí. Stop in at the Dalí Theatre-Museum for a magnificent surrealist experience with a guided tour of the museum with a local. The museum is described as the world’s largest Surrealist object in the world, and it displays the various aspects of Dalí’s art. From there, continue to Girona, which was used as a backdrop to many Game of Thrones scenes. You will have free time in the evening to relax.

Day 4: Costa Brava

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive along the Costa Brava, one of Spain’s most captivating coastlines. Visit lighthouses and small coastal villages along the Mediterranean Sea, like Begur, Lloret de Mar, Cap de Creus or Cadaqués. On the way back to Girona, head inland to visit some of the local vineyards in Empordà and sample the regional wines.

Day 5: Girona to Barcelona

After leisure time in the morning, begin your return journey to Barcelona, which is approximately 1.5 hours from Girona. Check in to your Barcelona hotel, and in the evening, enjoy dinner and a flamenco dance performance.
