Day 1: Arrive in England – London

Welcome to London! Get ready for an energetic two days of exploring the meandering metropolis. Learn about the capital of England and the United Kingdom’s history that dates back to Roman times. See iconic buildings at its center, such as the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. Experience the city from above with the London Eye observation wheel and enjoy a panoramic vista of the entire city.

Day 2: London

Visit London’s royal hotspots today. Take a trip to Kensington Palace, the childhood home of Queen Victoria, the home where Princess Diana lived, and the current home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Take a walk through Hyde Park toward Buckingham Palace, home to the current monarch. See the Changing of the Guard ceremony where The Queen’s Guard hands over the responsibility for the protection of the Palace and nearby St James’s Palace to the New Guard.

Day 3: London to York

Take the train this morning to make your way to York in good time to enjoy all that this northern gem has to offer. Marvel at York Minster, the cathedral of the city and one of the largest of its kind in all of Europe. See the Shambles, the inspiration for Diagon Abbey in Harry Potter. This is an area of the city with overhanging timber buildings that once were shopping streets for raw meats. Today you’ll find it full of little boutiques and cafes.

Day 4: York to Edinburgh

See where Scotland starts today as you travel through the Borders area, a lesser-known area of the country. The region is defined as much by its landscape as it is by its spellbinding abbeys, fascinating heritage sites and stately homes and castles. Continue on to the city of Edinburgh with its Old and New Town.

Day 5: Edinburgh

Explore on foot today. Take a stroll down the Royal Mile, the main thoroughfare of the Old Town of the city of Edinburgh. The origins of the name come from the significant locations in the royal history of Scotland: The Palace at Holyroodhouse and the castle are separated by a mile. Dare to go beneath the city and sample some of the underground history!

Day 6: Edinburgh to Loch Lomond

Pose for a picture today at the famous Kelpies structure in Falkirk as you travel toward Loch Lomond. At almost 100 feet high, the horse head sculptures depicting water spirits, and they are quite a sight to behold. Moving on to Stirling Castle, you will enjoy a visit to one of the most important castles in Scottish history.

Day 7: Loch Lomond to Glasgow

Hold one of nature’s great creatures on your arm today with a Hawk Walk at the Bird of Prey Centre in Loch Lomond. Experience the thrill of the hawk as it swoops down to your glove. See up close how they fold and spread their wings to gain speed and brake for landing. Continue on to the beautifully located Glengoyne Distillery for a visit and tasting experience before arriving in Glasgow.
