Day 1: Arrive in Wales

Croeso! Welcome to Wales. Arriving in Manchester or Liverpool airport or taking a ferry from Ireland is the best way to start your tour. Your visit to this Celtic nation begins in North Wales with its epic landscapes and distinctive culture. Stop in Conwy, a UNESCO World Heritage Center and see its castle, which is considered one of the finest built between the 13th and 14th centuries. Journey on to the stunning Italianate village of Portmeirion, which will set the scene for your romantic getaway.

Day 2: North Wales

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then wander around the village before the day visitors come in! Just a mile from Portmeirion is the Minffordd railway station, where you can board a heritage narrow-gauge train that will take you through the heart of Snowdonia toward Blaenau Ffestiniog. Spectacular views await you.

Day 3: North Wales to Pembrokeshire

Enjoy a change in scenery today, going from North Wales to the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline. The landscape is peppered with medieval castles illustrating the history of this nation from its Celtic origins to Norman rule. A stop in Aberystwyth will provide a break on the journey today. Just before getting to your hotel, you will find a local working woolen mill that’s been in business since 1912.

Day 4: Pembrokeshire

Today you will learn about the Welsh craft of making lovespoons, which date back to the 17th century! You will definitely want to take home one of these tokens of love. Watch the lovespoons being made at a local workshop and go home with your very own handmade souvenir.

Day 5: Pembrokeshire to Cardiff

Visit Ogmore Castle and its stepping stones, which date back to the year 1100. Situated on the banks of the Ewenny River, this castle is an idyllic scene like you’d find in a fairytale. Continue to Penarth, a town known as the “Garden by the Sea”. A seaside resort just five miles from the capital city of Cardiff closes your trip to Wales. Enjoy the salty sea air, Victorian charm, picturesque pier and maybe try the local fish and chips!
