Part of what makes Tenon so great is our one-on-one mentality and desire to get to know our clients. We thought it was about time to return the favor and let you get to know us! Christine, our Personal Travel Specialist, has been with us since 2017. Below she answered some questions about herself and her journey in the travel business.
If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?
“Italy, of course! I have seen several countries around the world, and while each one has been an amazing experience, none of them have come close to giving me the feeling that I get once I’ve stepped foot in the land of pasta & vino. The architecture, the locals, the language, the cuisine and the breathtaking scenery that encompasses the entire country (just to name a few!) has left its mark on me.”
What has been one fun fact about our destinations that you have learned while working for Tenon?
“The amount of traffic in Ireland that is caused by sheep in the roads is something that I had no idea people had to take into account while mapping out a travel route. You certainly don’t hear about this form of traffic in the States!”
How does your education connect to your career? What about personal experiences?
“Obtaining a degree in Social Work has provided me with the foundation to build interpersonal relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. At Tenon Tours, we pride ourselves on our relationships with our clientele and the cultural competence that I’ve acquired both in college and through my personal travels allows me to build authentic and trusting relationships with clients.”
Where has the travel bug taken you?
“The travel bug has taken me to the following places: The Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, England, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Russia, Poland, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Croatia, Spain, Romania, Scotland, Israel and Palestine!”
What is your favorite part about working for Tenon Tours?
“My favorite part about working for Tenon Tours is hearing the excitement and wonderment in client’s voices while they are in the process of planning their trip abroad. Discussing the destinations that they will be traveling to and solidifying their itineraries excites me just as much as it does them!”
