About Dominique

Dom experiencing the majestic Cliffs of Moher!

Part of what makes Tenon so great is our one-on-one mentality and desire to get to know our clients. We thought it was about time to return the favor and let you get to know us! Dom, our Senior Operations Coordinator, has been with us since October, 2016. Below she answered some questions about herself and her journey in the travel business!

Where does your passion for travel derive from?
“I have an admiration of seeing new things and just letting myself be amazed. I feel as though there is always an adventure to be had and I guess I just want to see it all. Our world is filled with different cultures and ways of living and I want to be exposed to as many different places as possible. I think it makes you more of a well rounded person to take a step out of your comfort zone and put yourself in unfamiliar places.”

What has been one fun fact about Tenon Tours that you have learned while working here?
“Tenon Tours can cater to nearly any client out there. I find it amazing that we have tours for Harry Potter fans, Whisky enthusiasts, Castle hunters, Foodies and everything in between! When other tour operators say no, Tenon Tours says yes and that is one of my favorite parts about this company.”

If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?
“I would like to spend a week in Thailand. I say that but, truly I would go anywhere! I would also love to dig into my familial roots as my Mother’s side of the family is Irish and my father’s side of the family is Italian. Both of those places are very high on my bucket list.”

Is Stonehenge photobombing Dominique, or is it the other way around?!

Tenon Tours is our name and customer service is our game. What do you do to go above and beyond for your clients?
“Booking an international vacation can be nerve wracking so I like to stay in constant communication with my clients to let them know that I am available every step of the way. At Tenon Tours we will answer any questions and communication within 24 hours. I also really enjoy making detailed and exciting itineraries for my clients. This way I can give them ideas on what to do in the area from attractions to restaurant recommendations!”

What is your biggest advice to someone traveling internationally for their very first time?
“I would tell someone to …. not go to sleep once they get to their destination. Although Jet Lag can feel quite uncomfortable at first, it is better to get out and get fresh air and drink lots of water as your body will adjust quicker that way! Explore the city or town your in for a bit, as you will be amazed at your surroundings and that should give you a jolt of energy. The sooner that you adjust to the time difference, the more you will enjoy your vacation :)”

How does your education connect to your career? What about personal experiences?
“I graduated from the University of Delaware with a hotel, restaurant, and institutional management degree. Throughout my four years, I have had communication and interactions with nearly every type of client out there! Having that interpersonal communication and hospitality background helped me transition to Tenon very smoothly. I find it easy to talk to people I do not know and thrive on human interaction. I am also a natural planner. I frequently plan vacations for my friends and family. Tenon Tours is a perfect fit for me.”
