Brian and his wife enjoying their Italian Holiday!

Where did you travel in Italy?
“We went to Florence, Tuscany, Pompeii, Sorrento, Amalfi, and Rome!”

What made you want to travel to Italy?:
“This was a gift to my wife for her birthday. We were attracted to Italy’s rich history, extraordinary natural beauty, and delicious food and drink.”

Where were the top 3 places to visit on your wish list? If you made it to them, what did you think?:
“Tuscany – I thought Tuscany was going to be a lazy day of great wines. Oh, how wrong I was. Charming medieval towns and villages, incredible countryside, and an exhilarating drive on the Autostrade and back roads…..No offense to Napa and the New World wine regions, but Tuscany is in a class of it’s own. Amalfi Coast – The pictures of Amalfi don’t do it justice. Please stop by Torre Saracena Restaurant just before sunset. It’s magical. Rome – Where do you start to describe the legendary city of Rome! I was captivated by the ancient history mixed with the modern cosmopolitan lifestyle. The popolo romano are some of the most beautiful hosts you’ll ever meet. Bravo!”

Tough question alert! What was the best part about your vacation?:
“The best part of the trip was seeing my wife’s enjoyment. Each day brought a new adventure and she loved every minute.”

What made you want to travel with Tenon Tours? What advantages did you have booking with Tenon Tours?:
“Tenon Tours does a fantastic job of crossing all the T’s and dotting the I’s. Tenon Tours knows the locations you want to go to and will build you an unforgettable trip.”

Beautiful Italy!

How was your experience with your Personal Sales Representative(s)?:
“Our sales and account team was top notch. Molly, Dominique, and Karen were in constant and timely communication with us, from my first inquiries to a lovely ‘Welcome Home’ email when were stateside. Plus, when things went sideways, like a cancellation of a connecting flight leaving us potentially stranded in AMS, Tenon had our backs! Tenon was getting us on another flight, contacting our driver, and informing our hotel of a late arrival. In this day and age of , you’ll be hard pressed to find this level of travel service anywhere.”

Do you wish you prepared better for any specific part of the trip?:
“Give yourself extra time for travel. I wish I had done a better job estimating travel our custom, multi-destination trip. Look at your itinerary closely and don’t let anything fall thru the cracks.”

Do you have any advice to offer up about the weather?:
“Weather was perfect, 70s during the day, 50s at night. Make sure your clothes are comfortable AND stylish. The Italians dress well, you’ll need to step up your fashion game.”

Did travel insurance come in handy for you?:

“Get the travel insurance and sleep well at night.”

Brian’s wife, Danielle enjoying gorgeous views of Italy

Were you able to meet any friends along your journey?:
“This question makes me close my eyes and think of so many happy faces, must be something in the Italian air.”

What are your favorite souvenirs you brought home?:
“Corks from our favorite wines.”

Were there any unplanned parts of your trip that wound up turning into one of your favorite travel stories?:
“The rental car reservation stated I’d be getting an Alfa Romeo Giulietta or equivalent. I got a small, diesel, Romanian SUV instead. Such is life. Fast forward to the day we are due to return the rental car. Remember I said giving yourself extra time for travel? We gas the car up, turn on the street to return the car and run smack dab into bumper to bumper traffic with only 30 minutes to get to our train to Rome! I decided I’d leverage the extra ride height the little Dacia Duster afforded me and jumped the median strip to get us to the rental car return center with minutes to spare. Italian drivers don’t scare easily, but we definitely saw some wide eyes as we pulled into the Locauto rental car center. :)”
