What was your purpose for traveling; celebrating anything in particular or just looking to get away?
On Ha’Penny Bridge in Dublin
This trip was an anniversary trip. My best friend of 40 years and I, decided we should celebrate our long lasting relationship. We are both so thankful for one another and our friendship, that it was a milestone worth commemorating! (Our husbands were just a wee bit jealous though. Lol)
Why did you choose Tenon Tours? What advantages did you have booking with Tenon Tours?
I chose Tenon, from the reviews and personal opinions of a family member that had spoken to someone there. Having someone else make the arrangements, was a huge relief & time-saver. The information that we received for planning for our trip, was most helpful too!
Anything to add about your personal sales representative?
Barb & Cara were very responsive to my questions and provided us with lots of literature, to make our trip almost stress free. (They couldn’t drive for us). Best of all, was our booking at Dromoland Castle, for our last night stay. The place was FABULOUS and well above our tour pricing range. Still not sure how that was managed, but we will talk about it, for our next 40 years.
Visiting Christ Church in Dublin!
Any advice about the weather?
Don’t forget your umbrella and have good water proof shoes. We were fortunate. We visited the first week of sunshine. We only got caught in the rain once, (without our umbrellas), but it actually wasn’t bad. The moderate temperatures made it a nice night time walk.
How did you feel about driving on the “wrong” side of the road?
I couldn’t do it. Thankfully my BFF mastered it, in the end. We had a few scary moments and I screamed out loud a few times. The cities, were the scariest and most confusing. (Well and the rural roads).
What tips do you have for others planning a self-drive tour?
Even though it was scary for me, it was the best choice for what we wanted to do. We didn’t really have a “plan”, other than our boarding and the whale watch. The self drive enabled us to wing it and truly experience what we thought Ireland would be about.
Finally,Ā what was the best part about your vacation?
Oooohhhh. I’m not sure I could pick just one thing! We loved the music, the food, the people and the lovely countrysides and seascapes. We also loved just having an adventure of a lifetime together.
Having fun dressed as witches!
