Welcome to Greece! You will meet your English speaking driver outside of customs and transfer to your centrally located hotel. Today you can get settled and explore Athens on your own. Athens has a variety of lively neighborhoods with boutiques and cafes, street vendors and performers. The Plaka neighborhood is just below the Acropolis featuring narrow streets lined with charming cafes, restaurants, shops, and neoclassical architecture. The vibrant Monastiraki neighborhood is known for its bustling flea market, where you can find a variety of items including antiques, souvenirs, clothing, and local delicacies.

This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant on a terrace overlooking the Acropolis.

Your local guide will introduce you to all the highlights of Athens on your private sightseeing tour. Visit the ancient sites of the Acropolis featuring the stunning Parthenon, as well as several other monuments throughout the city. See Syntagma Square, the central square of Athens, with the Hellenic Parliament building, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Tomb is guarded by the Evzones, known for their distinctive uniform. Try to catch the changing of the guard ceremony which takes place every hour!

You may wish to visit the Acropolis Museum, which houses an impressive collection of artifacts found on the Acropolis archaeological site, providing insights into ancient Greek history and culture. Another excellent museum is the National Archaeological Museum with an extensive collection of artifacts from various periods of Greek history, including sculptures, pottery, jewelry, and frescoes.

Early transfer to the Piraeus pier for departure by fast ferry to the island of Mykonos. Mykonos is known for its beautiful beaches and natural beauty, as well as a rich history, vibrant culture, and exciting nightlife.

The main town of Mykonos, also known as Chora, is a maze of narrow streets lined with whitewashed buildings adorned with colorful doors and window shutters. Explore its winding alleys to discover boutique shops, art galleries, traditional tavernas, and iconic windmills.

Today, you’ll experience the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea on your small group sailing tour. Sail past iconic landmarks such as the windmills of Mykonos, the Little Venice area, and the picturesque villages that dot the island. Admire the island’s beautiful coastline from the water, and some of the most stunning beaches in Greece. You’ll have a chance to snorkel or swim in the crystal-clear waters and explore the underwater world, where you might encounter colorful fish, sea turtles, and even octopuses.

Today is yours to explore on your own, or join an optional excursion. There is a lot to see including the Paraportiani Church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and a famous example of Cycladic architecture. The church is one of the most photographed spots in the Mediterranean. By the harbor, the iconic windmills stand guard facing the north, and offer a strikingly beautiful photographic opportunity. The windmills were used in the past to grind wheat, and provide a scenic vista overlooking the Little Venice neighborhood and the sea below. The Little Venice neighborhood features rows of elegant houses built right on the water’s edge, reminiscent of Venice. 

Why not relax with a stop at a local tavern for a sampling of Greek specialties, including various traditional Greek dips and olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, and local wine?

In Paroikia, the capital of Paros, stroll down the narrow cobblestone streets, admire the whitewashed buildings, blue domed churches, and indulge in the delicious local cuisine which features fresh seafood, traditional Greek dishes, and locally produced wine and cheese.

Explore Paros with a private guide today. In Paroikia, visit the well-preserved 13th century Venetian castle and the 6th century church of Panayia Ekatontapyliani (Church of 100 Doors). Visit the colorful fisherman village of Naoussa, with whitewashed and flowered little houses, churches and chapels, surrounded by labyrinth-like narrow, stone paved streets.
