Stephanie Macaluso | Personal Travel Specialist | Delaware
From climbing the Slieve League Cliffs, coasteering off the coast of County Sligo, and swimming in Iceland’s Blue Lagoon, to the activity that Stephanie says takes the cake—zip lining across Slate Country in Northern Wales followed by a visit to Bounce Below, an underground trampoline park—it’s safe to say that our National Sales Manager has fully explored our destinations. For a long time, Stephanie was known at Tenon Tours as O’Mollie, a name we created to help her “fit in” since she didn’t have an Irish (or English, or Scottish, or Welsh) name. Now that we have broadened our portfolio to include Italy, she can celebrate ancestral connections to one of our destinations.
Born and raised just outside of Philadelphia, Stephanie attended the University of Delaware and discovered Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Italy during a Study Abroad trip. Her career began as a Regional Sales Manager for StudentCity.com, eventually becoming Regional Sales Director. She has been sharing her passion and her determination to travel and deepen her knowledge of other cultures with our clients since 2009. Her favorite problem to solve? Planning an itinerary and being realistic with a client on the best ways to spend the time they have for their trip, helping them narrow down their wish-list to create their own unique tour through the countries they want to explore, without feeling like they’re missing something.
Tenon Travel Tip
Besides the obvious things like “make sure you have a passport” and “notify your banks and credit card companies that you will be traveling,” her best tip would be to engage as much as you can in the culture of the country you’re visiting—speak the language, talk with locals in various towns, and try new foods, especially those native to the land. You really take a whole new perspective on your travels when you create adventures this way. Experienced traveler? Continue to keep your eyes open to new opportunities and new things you can discover. Each place, as many times as you visit them, will have new roads that can be uncovered!
Tenon Ties
Stephanie also has family ties within Tenon, as her pup Winnie is our Chief Security Director. A great asset to the Tenon Tours team, Winnie protects the representatives in the office. She always greets strangers at the door with a loud bark and a few sniffs—just to make sure they’re someone we should welcome into our workplace. She loves Tenon Tours so much and she really appreciates this opportunity, in fact, she’s out the door before Stephanie every day, excited to get to work. It’s a ruff life, but doggone it, someone has to do it!
