AMÉLIE

You’ll fall in love with Paris at night.

LA VIE EN ROSE
The biographical musical story of Édith Piaf, one of France’s most beloved singers. Born from a struggling artist and acrobat, she overcame a chaotic childhood which at one point included joining the circus with her father and eventually busking in the Parisian neighborhood of Montmartre which led to her musical discovery. Her rise to fame and her eventual demise due to alcoholism and drug abuse, make this a riveting, haunting and heartbreaking true story.

MARIE ANTOINETTE
Filmed almost entirely at the illustrious Palace of Versailles, this retelling of the potentially misunderstood young queen, seamlessly blends contemporary music and other modern elements with a breathtaking historical backdrop. Think of it as a backstage pass to Versailles with an amazing soundtrack.

BEFORE SUNSET
The second part in the “Before” trilogy, a series that explores the span of a modern day relationship. Jesse and Celine, meet as twenty-somethings in the first chapter when Jesse convinces Celine to get off the train with him in Vienna before he has to return home. After a night wandering around the city, all the while falling in love, they agree to meet in the same spot in 6 months. In this sequel, 9 years have passed. They reconnect while walking through the streets of Paris while catching up about their lives and the choices that got them there. This is a movie for optimistic romantics and fans of dialogue-heavy movies.

CHOCOLAT
Another whimsical and romantic movie, set in a charming yet unnamed village in the south of France (although actually filmed in the regions of Burgundy and Dordogne). It tells the story of a mother and her young daughter and the series of events set in motion by the chocolate shop they opened in the tranquil (and stagnant) little village. If you love chocolate, cobblestoned French villages, and sweet love stories, this is one you shouldn’t miss.
